Leap!

Had to have an entry today. We won't have another February 29th for a while... Happy leap year!

Nothing too new here. Henry is older. He's still obsessed with puzzles and baseball. We've been investigating various preschools for next year, including this private one and some other co-op preschools. (Henry attends a co-op preschool once a week now.) Learning social interaction skills and self-control are the big challenges for Henry right now (and will be for a while to come). It can be frustrating to watch and experience his struggles but he has to struggle to learn. These days, the hardest parenting thing to learn is when to back off. Fun stuff: family baseball games in the basement, talking about how scabs form, pretending to work the Starbucks drive-thru, singing like an electric guitar.

Welcome Back...

Rain! (No, not Kotter.) We had a good stretch of sun, but it's all over now. Why do we keep forgetting to plan our Hawaii trip for this time of year? At least it's only a month until we go to Arizona.

I don't know if it's the rain or the stress of a busy week, but I feel down in the dumps. Hopefully, the next few days will be calmer. Though, maybe that's the problem; going from having too much to do to having very little to do seems to trigger a little wigginess in our family. At least the having very little to do won't last for long! Well, enough of that; you don't come here to read about my emotional woes...

Henry is great. His latest obsessions are jigsaw puzzles, Moop & Dreadly, Thomas the Tank Engine (and friends), making up stories and acting them out, and baseball (still, always, above all else). He's struggling with the typical three year old things (sharing, resisting tackling people for fun, handling frustration when the world doesn't conform to expectations), making things interesting!
