We had a fun-filled day today. We met our friends Mark, Audrey, and Pascal downtown at the Dahlia Bakery for a snack and then headed over to the Moore Theater to see the Dan Zanes and Friends show. Henry loved it (as did Pascal, until he fell asleep on Audrey’s lap) and a good time was had by all. Dan Zanes makes real music; not children’s music so much as music for everyone. He performs his own songs, including some rap songs with Jamaican rapper Rankin’ Don, aka Father Goose, plus lots of folk and early American stuff, such as “Erie Canal,” “Sidewalks of New York,” “Bushel and a Peck.” Did I mention Henry loved it? Sometimes, he danced and sang along; a lot of the time, he studied the performers, their instruments, and their moves in his serious, happy way.
Oh, yeah, we also went to the park, had an apple pie snack, read some books, built a train layout in the basement, and went to Target! Henry fell asleep in the car on the way home from Target and Brad carried him right up into bed. His brain is working overtime.
