  Research Notes	According the the 1920 census, she emigrated in 1880 and was naturalized in 1904. If this is so, she came to the US well before the rest of her family (and at the age of 1). The 1910 and 1930 censuses list a more realistic emigration date of 1893 and the 1900 census gives 1895. Name spelled “Thorna” on 1920 census. Obituary indicates that she was survived by 7 grandchildren. Given the 4 children of William that we know about, that means Carl (her step-son) probably had 3 children.
