Article published in the Cook County Herald on 22 May 1925 gives an extensive account of the family’s early days in America.

On 29 May 1608, he was installed as pastor of the Reformed church at Lienen, succeeding his father who had died that January. In 1609, he began an inventory book for the church at Lienen (this Lagerbuch is still in the church archives there).
