  Orphaned at the age of eight. Lived in the Catholic orphanage in Sligo Town with her sisters Josephine and Margaret (her brother Hubert lived with thier Grandmother Keaveny). Soon after, she went to live with her Aunt Belinda and Uncle Joe Byrne in Dublin (her sisters lived with their Aunt Ann and Uncle Bill O’Mara in Carlow). Lived in London and traveled to France and Italy as a young woman. Emigrated with her sister Josephine in 1955 and lived in Springfield, Massachusetts. [2]
