Research Notes | 1900 and 1920 census entries give William’s birthplace as England (with an 1887 immigration). 1910 census gives birthplace as Illinois. In the 1930, census, William appears as “James C. Philpott,” living with his brother-in-law William Viberts. It’s possible he has a brother named James, but I suspect it’s actually William. He is listed as married (not widowed or divorced), but his wife does not appear in the same household. A William C. Philpott appears in the Illinois Statewide Death Index (d. 13 July 1936 in Cook County). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] | |
