- Founded the Northwest Computer Society and ran the first Seattle Personal Computer Fair. Joined Microsoft as its ninth employee in 1978. Left Microsoft in 1983. Wrote PC-Write and released it through his company Quicksoft, an early shareware pioneer. Moved to California in 1993, after Quicksoft folded. Started Mind Books, a mail order source for books about psychedelic drugs, in 1996. Established the Promind Foundation in 1998 to fund scientific research, public education, and harm-reduction efforts related to psychedelics. [3]
