The information about Paulina and her descendants rests upon her marriage to Carl Louis Wegener. There is no sure evidence that she is the correct Paulina Schoelzel, but her details seem to match up well: birth year reasonable given ages of her parents and siblings, married in Chicago shortly after arriving with her mother, moved to Kentucky, etc. The most definitive evidence for a connection is the addresses of her mother’s death in January 1890 and her son’s birth in July 1890: both records list 104 Johnston Ave (now 2933 W. Lyndale Street). |
