• Notes

  At the age of six, Philip was shot by a playmate, Cecil Stephens, age 8. The two had been playing “soldier” when Philip was shot in the cheek. The bullet penetrated his eardrum and passed out the back of his neck. WWII Draft Card shows a subsequent address at 607 Main Street in Macon, Georgia. [4, 5]
